Wards Corner Now – Wards Corner, Norfolk, Virginia

Sal’s Pizza Wards Corner is expected to open on October 1, 2012 at the old Wards Corner Del Vecchios location at 7556 Virginian Drive.  The planned hours are Mon-Sat: 11AM-10PM and Sun: 11AM-9PM.

Sal’s Pizza Wards Corner is independently owned and operated; however, it is affiliated with Sal’s Pizza on E. Little Creek Road.  They will be predominately take-out and delivery; however, they will have limited dine-in as well. There are no current plans to serve alcohol.

They have completed some minor renovations with the dine-in area to include refacing the tables and chairs. They also put in a new drink counter and replaced the fire suppression system.   Additionally, they replaced the storefront sign with a sign they hope people will be able to see from Granby Street.

Sal’s Pizza Wards Corner is owned by Two Brothers Pizza, LLC.  Two Brothers Pizza, LLC was created by brothers Terry LaBeff and Chad Caldwell.   The brothers were separated in 1987 when their mother passed away.  Chad was moved to Western Pennsylvania and Terry remained in Upstate New York.   For 22 years they had no communication until one day in 2009 Chad found out that Terry lived in Norfolk.  Chad, at the time, was living in Virginia Beach.   The two brother have reconnected and gone into business together to bring Sal’s Pizza to Wards Corner.  Terry currently lives in the Riverpoint area of Norfolk and Chad continues to reside in Virginia Beach.

Sal’s pizza, at their other location on E. Little Creek Road, has a history of working with Norfolk Public Schools.  “We are looking forward to becoming a part of Wards Corner and are excited about working with additional Norfolk Public Schools and their respective PTAs”  says Terry LaBeff.
