Ward 1 City Council appointment

Norfolk City Council is accepting Letters of Interest from persons who wish to be considered for appointment to the position of council member representing Ward 1 until an election is held.

The City Council encourages interested citizens, who are registered voters in the city of Norfolk and reside in Ward 1, to submit a Letter of Interest stating their desire to serve on the governing body along with a printed “Statement of Qualifications” or resume before 5 pm, June 20.

Terminal Boulevard Project Community Meeting

The Virginia Department of Transportation has signed a contract to proceed with the Terminal Boulevard Project.

VDOT and the City of Norfolk will host a community meeting on Wednesday, May 25th 6-8 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 7400 Hampton, Boulevard.

WC Business Association meeting

Elyse Kalfus, President of the Wards Corner Business Association invites the public the their meeting on May 17:

The next meeting of the Greater Wards Corner Area Business Association will be Tuesday, May 17th ,2016.

The meeting will begin at 8:45 a.m. and door will open at 8:30 a.m., as usual we will meet at Farm Fresh, 230 East Little Creek Road, upstairs in the Marine room.

Our guest speaker will be Laurie Simmons, VDOT Public Affairs, Hampton Roads District. She will be providing a presentation on the Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing Project, set to begin in June. She will explain the scope of the project, and all associated noise and travel impacts for those driving/living/working in the corridor. She will also talk about detours and alternate routes that might affect traffic around some of the businesses in Wards Corner.

This will be an important presentation for everyone in our area, so save the date and plan to attend.
